The first new item in the collection we’ve already had a sneak peek at this summer.  For those of you who haven’t seen her then meet our small clutch Bella:

Second is this great little hipbag, Hemingway:  Hemingway can also be custom ordered as a slim sleeve for either your ipad or computer.

Next is our new everyday bag, Olivia.  Perfect to carry every thing you need on a daily basis. Olivia can be worn as a shoulder bag or across the body.

Otis is a larger bag designed with a padded structure and an interior sleeve that will keep your computer secure. It will fit a 13″or 15″ nicely. (or sketchbooks, notebooks, magazines…)

And finally I thought we’d throw in something just a little bit different.  This is the bywa version of the wrap belt. Don’t worry, pictures will be coming soon to show it on the body.  It can be worn fitted around the waist or as a loose drop belt around your hips.

Our clutch features a slot pocket perfect to keep small cards in check. But for the times when a wallet is still desired our ‘Charlie’ wallet conveniently fits like a glove. Similar to our wallets, the Bella incorporates our green friendly lining created by fusing together 16 layers of plastic bags.

It’s called “Jordan:bringing the stories home”. It’s a documentary project featuring stories of women in the middle east and this is their philosophy behind the power of story.

“The wisdom of stories is that they capture our hearts and our imagination; they connect us to our common humanity and provoke us to action. Stories have the power to make allies out of perceived enemies to build bridges of genuine understanding, compassion and trust.”

The day my older sister was due to be born my mom was busy canning peaches that some trucker had dumped in the forest on their farm. One year we got our Christmas tree from the local dump because someone had just dumped a load of trees they couldn’t sell. Come to think of it, the dishwasher we used for years and years came from that same dump. My dad cleaned it all up and it was as good as new…well almost new. My parents were always looking for new ways to conserve energy, to grow organically, to reuse what we already had. They lived this way not because it was cool or trendy but because it was the right thing to do. I love them both and will forever be thankful for the amazing examples they have been.

So here’s to you, mom and dad! Thanks, and I can’t wait for all the great veggies from this year’s garden.

First up we have an extra large hobo bag that’s big enough to carry the kitchen sink but with this bag you’ll do it with class. This bag can be worn as a shoulder bag or across the body.

Next, we have our new wallet. It’s a large wallet with 12 card slots and a large zipper pouch for change. Like our smaller wallet style, Charlie, the stability is made from 16 layers of grocery bags that have been fused together to form a hard vinyl and then sew in between the leather.

This past holiday however, it was time to do some much needed shopping not for supplies for my bags but for myself. It was so fun to hunt through racks and racks of clothing to find a hidden treasure just my size. The fact that everything was 50% off that day was an added bonus! So I came home with some great tops and an old leather trench that I’m going to shorten for my own use and a very swell pair of jeans. The next morning I was looking through what I’d purchased and discovered an added bonus. The pair of jeans I bought for $4 where actually an organic cotton jean from Loomstate. Needless to say I was very excited. Not only were they 2nd hand, they were even made in a sustainable way to begin with! I was definitely a bit stoked. Nothing beats that kind of deal. No killer mall deal could come close. So here is my hat’s off to thrifting!
